The annual PDD has been re-invented and expanded in 2018 to focus on scientific collaboration and transitioning from postdoctoral fellowships into future careers. PDD is followed on September 15th by Innovation Day, which provides more opportunities for those seeking networks between academia, industry, and clinical medicine. Together, these two days form the first "Open Innovation in Life Sciences" conference.

Dr. Emily Jones, associate editor at Nature Communications

Dr. Emily Jones

Associate Editor at Nature Communications

A conference by and for postdoctoral fellows and advanced Ph.D. candidates researching the life sciences.

Meet, Interact, & Present

Come meet other junior researchers in Switzerland! Postdoctoral fellows from any institution in Switzerland are given the opportunity for a flash talk and/or poster presentation to share their ideas. Doctoral students are also welcome to attend. The primary focus of PDD 2018 is scientific networking and discovering a life beyond postdoctoral research.

As in previous years, the best posters will be honored with a prize.

Program

The program for PDD 2018 is now available below. This year, we are focusing on moving beyond postdoctoral positions and into the next stages of our personal and professional lives, whether we remain academic or move into industry. In particular, we have added two tracks with different Career Workshops that encourage interactivity and are led by professionals who have already moved beyond their postdoctoral stage. Please also check our sister networking event, Innovation Day, to held the following day (September 15) in the same location.
